Strawberry Fields is a unique 3-part workshop series based on the principles of somatic eco-therapy. Led by Kristine Lindell LMHC, and Sean Abramowitz tLMHC, this workshop takes place in a community garden and food forest. EACH WORKSHOP WILL CONSIST OF: -Opportunities for nervous system regulation: experience greater calm, relaxation & release in your mind and body. -Mindfulness practices integrated with nature: Become more present and grounded in yourself & the environment around you. -Working in the garden: Tune into the wisdom of your body through accessible physical work that benefits you, your community, and the planet.* -Community Building: Connect with other community members in nourishing ways. -Additional Retreats: Feel the benefits of your work, and connection to the gardens and community as your plants grow. *All activities will be an invitation, and this workshop is about serving your own physical and emotional needs. JOIN US AS WE LAY THE GROUNDWORK FOR A NEW STRAWBERRY BED IN THE FIRST OF WORKSHOP OF THIS SERIES! PART ONE - "PLANT": -Exploring connection of our bodies to the earth through tactile meditation -Mindful weeding with breath-to-movement practice -Hand planting of new strawberries. All workshops will be held at the FOREST AVENUE OUTREACH, a local community garden project. The food we grow will be go towards fighting food insecurity in a low-income Des Moines neighborhood.
